This painting is inspired by Maui's grand 'Īao needle, which stands at 2,250 feet high and is a testament to Hawaii's incredible landscape, shaped by thousands of years of heavy tropical rainfall and trade winds. Painted with loose brushstrokes to illustrate the natural flow of the landscape that makes 'Īao valley so beautiful.
12"x16" on Arches cold press watercolor paper, matted in a 16"x20" solid walnut frame.
This painting is part of my "July Artist in Residence" original Watercolor collection. All pieces displayed during my residency are available for purchase here as well as in person at the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua, Maui.
